Do you really care?

There are people starving all around the world, winter is actually coming!
In Africa people have to walk for miles to quench their thirst,
People are worked to their bone, what is this world becoming?
But it’s your life that sucks, your crush didn’t call you first.

People are dying all across the globe and nobody seems to really care.
Discrimination based on skin color or the God you worship has become a fun past time.
Diseases of origins known and unknown are killing people fast while their love ones stare.
But it’s your life that sucks, how little clothes you have wear is a crime.

The world around us is dying and animal are going extinct!
Ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising, we’re on a living titanic… full speed ahead.
Animals are hunted for fun and trees are being cut down, we’re all being hoodwinked!
The top story of the day though is something some celebrity said, that’s what’s more read.

The enemy hides in plain sight and robs us in broad day light… Illuminati anyone?
We are told what we want to hear by the media and truth is bent to fit their lies.
Everything has a tax and they say it’s all for us but budgets always overrun!
But there’s a new app for your phones and everyone is using it, not downloading it would be unwise.

The world has never been more interconnected but disconnected from reality.
We share the cause of the week and then it’s forgotten like it was never a concern.
The world around us should change while we stand still in non-conformity,
While we sip our Caramel lattes and cold beer and watch the whole world burn.

People are still starving around the world… it’s the hunger games but in real life.
The loved ones of the dead are all still alone balled up in a dark corner curled.
Mother Nature is still crying as she watches us stab her over and over again with a knife.
Did your post really make any difference, did it change the world?

We live in a time where we talk of a tragedy that happens half way across the globe,
But aren’t willing to help the sick and weak person who lives next door.
All that matters is that other people know that we care and think we’re saints, like the pope.
The truth is we aren’t good people; we’re just like the rest, we don’ know what’s going on any more.
