After avoiding social media the whole day I sat down to watch the Royal Rumble.
Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt - This was an impressive match. Wow!Even though Bray Wyatt won the match, That was easily the best match of the night. It was back and forth for a long time and both of the wrestlers pulled off some excellent moves but, I think the ending was too soft, it could have been much more physical given the history of Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt and both of them being so hot tempered and unpredictable.
Brock Lesner vs Big Show - Way too short, the match got slightly interesting after Big Show started making a come back, but then they decided to end it and give Big Show a beating instead, which was utterly stupid, specially after all the hype they created for Big Show. This could have easily been the most brutal match of the PPV and they just turned it in to a beat down which was ridiculous. This is the match I'm disappointed the most in, it had so much potential! If you compare the matches that Big Show has done with Mark Henry this was just silly.
John Cena vs Randy Orton - This was the worst match of the PPV, I think the creative team just got bored. Cena using Orton's moves, Orton using Cena's and then the Wyatt family interrupting the match for no good reason at all and Orton running away as usual. Orton used to be a solid performer, I mean I get the whole paranoid angle their playing with Orton but his in ring performance has gone down greatly and he's being such a whiny bitch the whole time its just sad. Seriously Orton, Grow a pair. The crowd just hated this match, So many times the crowd got bored and started chanting "Daniel Bryan" or "This is awful". It was truly an awful match.
30 Man Over the top Royal Rumble - I thought this match would save the entire PPV, and it was really interesting with all the suprise entrances of Shaemus, El Torito, Kevin Nash and even JBL. But they started loosing the plot when they split up the shield and then got Kane to eliminate CM Punk and they just lost it all when they handed over the chance to Batista who is competing in his first match in over 4 years. Don't get me wrong I've got mad respect for Batista, the guy is a freaking legend in WWE, but Roman Reigns was so impressive in this match and they've been building him up for a long time and rightfully so...hes got the physic, the attitude and that superman punch is the BOMB, he Eliminated 12 people(breaking Kane's record), and he was impressive the whole match, he rightfully deserved to win.
It looks like Batista signed a contract to do the same thing the Rock did, gain momentum in his career. Come back to WE and say how much he missed the WWE community, do a few good matches, gain publicity, get paid and leave to star in a bunch of movies and never set foot in the WWE again until he needs more publicity...which is really disappointing and sad, specially when the WWE also knows this and is okay with it. I wouldn't even have minded Shaemus winning after his comeback, but no they just handed it over to Batista which is sad.
To sum up, their was some solid matches and good comebacks but the direction they took with all of it was wrong, Its like they had a good hand and they just decided to play all the wrong cards.
