Is it me or are the new generations getting so self obsessed with themselves and their lives that they fail to see whats actually happening in the the world around them?
I remember being a kid worrying about petty things such as homework and not being liked by a girl, but I had an idea on what was going on in the country and the world. I knew more than which celebrity died and had my ear to the ground to a certain extent to know when something happens. Sure I might have being late to the party (as usual) but I knew about local and international events.
We now live in a generation where Paul Walkers death is more important than Nelson Mandela's death....really?really?You cant even bring those two close.
Kids are so self obsessed that they may live in a sewer but they wouldn't care as long as they have their phone and can selfies. The worst part is businesses today prey on these teens and keep coming up with apps, games, gadgets to take advantage of this self indulgence, and its actually working!
Let me give you a challenge, go up to a teen and ask them if they heard about thee new budget...I bet you anything they would roll their eyes and reply with something similar to what are you my father?
I know and I feel so old saying this but if these are the kind of people that will rule our country in the future, I dread to think how our future will end up.
Heres some further reading. I will keep updating as I find more stories. Your contributions are most welcome
