Love Fights

Why does it always have to be one or the other?
Why can't it be what we both decide instead of being only your way?
Do we have to fight for every little thing to prove who's right?
This is all we seem to do; don't you feel it’s all one big trap?

Time and place for everything there is, I know, I know!
But we keep fighting all the time and if nobody's happy why do we do this at all?
Shouldn't we call it quits or can we please swallow our pride?
Do you want to keep repeating this routine over and over again, I really don't understand!

I feel your pain but for a change why don't you try walking in my shoes,
Do we have to keep stabbing each other till one of us bleeds?
Does my pain make you happy or do you want me to lie to you all the time?
You want to hear me say you were right and hear me accept I was wrong? Fine I’ll do it!

I thought you'd be happy, isn't that what you wanted to hear?
You were right and I was wrong, there, I said it again, Are you happy now?
Please, I beg you, can we stop fighting now and trying to prove who's right and wrong?
In the end isn't love supposed to be more than us going to war all the time?
